The Colton Stout Scholarship Fund, Inc. was created in memory of Colton Alexander Stout, an EMT-IV and Firefighter, to award 2 annual scholarships, EMT Certification scholarships or Paramedic Certification scholarships. This is a non-profit (501c3) organization that is funded solely by generous donations from individuals, businesses and clubs. The executive director and board members are volunteering their time, and are not compensated. The money donated to this fund will be given to selected candidates to allow them to follow their dream, to pursue a career in the first responder field. We hope you will adopt our Scholarship Fund, as one of the many charities you support.

On January 30, 2014, my wonderful son, Colton Alexander Stout, was in a car wreck and within the blink of an eye, was in Heaven.  Colton packed more in 20 years than most people I know.  He was an EMT, a volunteer fireman at Marlow VFD, a substitute teacher for the Anderson County School System and part time student at Roane State Community College. He also taught Emergency Responder Class two nights a week for Campbell County EMS in TN.  Ever since he was a preschooler, he wanted to be a fireman.  He achieved all his childhood dreams in exactly 20 years and 6 months.

To honor Colton and keep his memory alive in a way that stands for what he believed in most, helping people, we have started a 501(c)(3) in his name. Our goal is to award 2 scholarships by the end of the year. One going to a student whose dream is to be an EMT and the other to be awarded to an EMT who wishes to further their career and be a Critical Care Paramedic by attending Roane State Community College.

Our first fundraiser is a 5K, on August 2, 2014 in Oak Ridge, TN called Buy the Ticket, Take the Ride.  Any money that is donated will go to help defer costs for the 5K and what is left over will go toward the scholarship fund.

Thank you in advance for your donations to send deserving men and women to school to help them achieve their dreams.
